Practical living

At First, when you are diagnosed, its a normal reaction to lose your cool and run around like a headless chicken, achieving nothing and wasting precious time.
Fear is the first emotion that grips you.The word cancer is a word you don't associate but has its own embedded meaning in all human.we see it from a far but we already have a mindset about it.so when the word becomes associated with you,all those embedded mindset finds a way to surface.i remember when I was 'actually' diagnosed,I went with my mum and she literally had amnesia due to the shock.if you see the drama that happened in the hospital, that's a story for another day.me,I wasn't really that shaken because i have been having breast issue since 23 and have undergone numerous surgery and procedures that in fact, everyone has even been pointing at cancer, since the breast haven't gotten a solution since.so you can see you weren't alone. And we all make that MISTAKE of looking for information on the net.Whoa.worst place for us.so much negativity and vagueness that doesn't feel personal which is actually what you are yearning for at that time.you see, this sets off another larger level of fear on your prognosis and you become consumed by fear that nothing else surrounds your life 24 hours except cancer. And the doctors appointment isn't helping, except you ran into the few who will give it a human approach.in my case, all the doctors I met, their faces even gave them away, till I met a 'junior' consultant who even after he saw my prognosis 'downplayed it.Yes.he made jokes with me about the treatment, that I almost fell out of the chair laughing,I forgot reality for a moment.and he counselled me,gave me hope and asked me never to give up.that helped to put a check to all that fuelled my fear.
Then after fear ,the next emotion that follows is Anger.you are angry at why me,what have I done that others haven't done.then there is a tendency to turn that anger towards God.but that has been dealt with  in John 10:10.All bad things have one source,Satan. His job is to take you away from God.once you reconcile yourself back to God if you have been born again or you give your life to Christ for the first time,if you haven't before.then you are on the right track and you have properly dealt with the issue of anger.if it comes up any time during treatment, then you know where its from and you deal with it.
the next emotion is PITY.this one seems to be emanating from peoples attitude, expression and natural sympathy for your situation.you have control over this emotion.if you accept it for too long, then you wallow in it and before you know you lose your will power to fight cancer.so you fight it.HOW,through the word of God.there are many words God has spoken to us in the bible to tell us that we aren't to be pitied because Jesus has already conquered all we are passing through.so when you know this truth, you buckle up your belt and act like the warrior and survivor you are.accept people's sympathy but at the same time,SPEAK that you don't need it because you have already won the victory no matter what the facts or doctors state.trust me,the first time you do it you will be shocked that they will start congratulating you and stop pitying you.you get that!!!!!in psalm 8:6,Ephesians 2:6,Genesis 9:2.just a preamble on the verses that tells you to wake up and dominate as God designed you.
PLEASE don't make the same mistake we made and be running around like a headless chicken, wasting precious valuable time.Cheers.
